Andy Warhol- 13 MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS FOR ANDY WARHOL'S SCREEN TESTS

I realised when the band was performing(as good as they were) that my attention was drawn more to the backdrop they were performing infront of. Andy Warhol's videos have given me the idea to create my own work/self portrait piece using similar imagery to his but by relating it to myself. I want to create a black and white self portrait video of myself doing everyday things e.g. washing my hair, brushing my teeth but use the same aspect of Warhol's work which is to keep the person's focus within the video constantly on the camera lens. For this piece I want to control what the viewer can see and how they see it by experimenting with the 'peephole' concept. I think this will make the piece much more captivating as even though the piece will be a self portrait, the viewer will almost be the one that feels uncomfortable rather than me even though I'm exposing everything about myself. I want only one person to be able to view my piece at a single time so that the video feels more directed and controlled, almost creating a fairness of 'If you're watching me on my own then I'm watching you'.

Justin Wigan- SOUND ARTIST AND FORMER FAD STUDENT

At Dolphinholme I took part in a sound workshop created by Justin Wigan. At first I wasn't sure what It was going to be like as I'd never really looked into this aspect of art before and it seemed rather daunting learning something completely different, however I found his thought processes and way of working very refreshing.  He taught me how to control my hearing, intently listening to the sounds around me and then opening my senses further to the world around me, sounds that in usual life you would automatically choose not to listen to and subconsciously shut off.
